Fish-Cake Style Tofu Cakes

Main Ingredients
  • 140g ClearSpot Original Tofu
  • 2 small potatoes, microwaved, peeled and lightly mashed
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp finely chopped parsley
  • 3 tbsp plain flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp sriracha
  • Oil to pan fry


1. Drain the tofu and dry by placing in between thick paper towels.

2. Replace the towels when damp and continue the process for 15 minutes.

3. Roughly grate the tofu into a bowl.

4. Add the onions, parsley, 1 tbsp bread crumbs and sriracha and combine gently.

5. Shape into cakes.

6. In a bowl mix 1 tbsp on plain flour with 2-3 tbsp water to make a smooth thin paste.

7. Assemble three bowls one with this paste, the second with the remaining bread crumbs and the third with the rest of the plain flour.

8. Coat the cakes first with the plain flour, then the paste and finely roll it in the bread crumbs and set aside.

9. Heat the oil in a pan and then gently pan fry the cakes until nice and golden.

10. Serve with fries, mushy peas and tartare sauce.
